Enhanced Visuals adds screen effects for low health, potion effects, Enderman stares, explosions, and more. If any effect feels too intense or you want to disable a specific one, you can adjust it without leaving the game.
Opening the Config
Open the mod list from the main menu or pause screen, select Enhanced Visuals, and click the config button. Most builds also let you reach the same screen through a keybind or a
Mod Menu entry. From here you will see separate toggles and intensity sliders for each effect category, such as damage flash, low-health pulse, potion tinting, and the Enderman static overlay.
Tuning Individual Effects
- Turn off the low-health red pulse if it distracts you during combat, or lower its opacity so it stays readable.
- Reduce the Enderman static intensity if the full-screen noise makes it hard to fight back when you accidentally look at one.
- Disable potion screen tinting if you rely on clear vision while buffed.
- Keep explosion and hit flashes on if you want damage feedback but dislike the ambient effects.
Changes usually apply immediately, but some overlays only refresh after the triggering event ends. If a setting does not seem to take effect, trigger the event again or restart the game. Config files are stored per-profile, so settings you change in one world carry over to others using the same profile.
