How to Reduce Motion Sickness or Performance Issues Caused by Enhanced Visuals

Some players love the atmosphere but find the constant pulsing, tinting, and static uncomfortable, or notice frame drops when many effects stack. You can keep the mod installed while making it comfortable.

Reducing Visual Intensity

  • Lower the opacity or intensity sliders for the low-health pulse and potion tinting rather than turning everything off.
  • Disable the Enderman static overlay if full-screen noise triggers discomfort; it is the most aggressive effect.
  • Turn off screen-shake or wobble options if your build includes them, since these contribute most to motion sickness.
  • Shorten effect durations where the config allows, so overlays fade quickly after the triggering event.

Improving Performance

  • Effects that redraw the whole screen every frame are the heaviest. Disabling the static overlay and low-health pulse usually recovers the most frames.
  • If you use shaders, test with them off to see whether the mod or the shader pack is responsible for slowdowns.
  • Reduce particle-heavy settings in your video options, since the mod's overlays compound with existing particles during explosions and combat.

A good compromise for sensitive players is keeping damage flashes and potion tinting at low intensity while disabling ambient pulses and static entirely. You still get useful feedback without constant screen motion.
