Defiled Lands Mod — Guide

Bosses: The Mourner

The Mourner is the primary boss of the Defiled Lands. It is a large, flying skeletal entity that guards the heart of the corruption.

Summoning

To summon The Mourner, players must find a Defiled Altar (naturally occurring in Defiled biomes) and place a Golden Idol on it. This will trigger the boss fight immediately.

Combat Phases

• Phase 1 (Flying): The Mourner flies above the player, firing projectiles and summoning smaller minions. It is highly resistant to melee attacks in this phase.
• Phase 2 (Grounded): Once its health drops below 50%, The Mourner descends to the ground, becoming much faster and using powerful melee sweeps.

Stats & Drops

• Health: 300
• Armor: 10
• Primary Drop: Black Heart (Used for high-tier crafting).
• Secondary Drop: Mourner Trophy (Decorative).

Mechanics

Defilement Spread

The corruption spreads via a "random tick" system. If a Defiled Grass block is adjacent to a standard Grass block, there is a chance the standard block will convert. This can be stopped by using a Healer or by creating a 3-block wide trench of non-corruptible blocks (like Wood or Glass).

The Healer

The Healer is the only way to reclaim land. It requires Purifying Pellets (crafted from Gold and Glowstone) to operate. Once active, it will pulse every few seconds, converting one defiled block within an 8-block radius back to its original state.

Defiled Soul Processing

Defiled Souls are the "energy" of the mod. They can be combined with various items in a crafting table to "corrupt" them, such as turning a Golden Apple into a Defiled Apple, which provides stronger but more chaotic buffs.
