Genetics is the most advanced part of the mod suite, allowing players to bypass traditional breeding by directly editing the genome of bees, trees, flowers, and butterflies.

The Genetic Engineering Workflow

To manipulate genes, players must follow a specific laboratory process:

1. Genepool: Dissolve unwanted Drones or Larvae into Raw DNA using Ethanol and Enzyme.
2. Isolator: Extract a specific gene from a specimen into a Serum Vial. This consumes the specimen.
3. Sequencer: Analyze the Serum Vial to identify which trait it contains (e.g., 'Fast Speed' or 'Imperial Species').
4. Polymeriser: Use Raw DNA and Polymerising Bacteria to duplicate a sequenced Serum, creating multiple copies of a desired gene.
5. Inoculator: Inject the gene from a Serum into a Larva, Sapling, or Pollen. This has a chance to permanently change the specimen's genome.

Machines in the Genetics lab require specific fluids produced in the Incubator:

• Growth Medium: Bone Meal + Sugar + Water
• Bacteria: Growth Medium + Wheat
• Enzyme: Bacteria + Sugar
• Polymerising Bacteria: Bacteria + Bone Meal
