Aquaculture 2 Mod — Guide

Fishing Rods & Customization

Aquaculture 2 adds four tiers of fishing rods that offer significantly higher durability and customization compared to the vanilla rod. While the vanilla rod still works, only Aquaculture rods can be modified in the Tackle Box.

Rod Tiers

Rod Type Recipe Properties
Iron Fishing Rod 1 Stick, 2 Iron Ingots, 2 String Basic upgrade; high durability.
Gold Fishing Rod 1 Stick, 2 Gold Ingots, 2 String Lower durability but higher luck.
Diamond Fishing Rod 1 Stick, 2 Diamonds, 2 String Extreme durability for long sessions.
Neptunium Fishing Rod 1 Stick, 2 Neptunium Ingots, 2 String Unbreakable; fish bite significantly faster.

Customization Items

Using a Tackle Box, players can apply the following to their rods: * Hooks: Add functional buffs like increased luck or double catches. * Bait: Increases the speed at which fish bite. * Fishing Line: Purely cosmetic; can be dyed any color. * Bobber: Purely cosmetic; can be dyed any color.

Hooks & Bait

Hooks are powerful modifiers crafted using an Iron Hook (4 Iron Nuggets in a 'U' shape) as a base.

Hook Types

Hook Recipe Effect
Iron Hook 4 Iron Nuggets 20% chance to not consume bait durability.
Gold Hook Iron Hook + 4 Gold Nuggets Increases fishing luck.
Diamond Hook Iron Hook + 4 Diamonds 50% chance to not consume bait durability.
Light Hook Iron Hook + 4 Feathers Increases casting distance.
Heavy Hook Iron Hook + 4 Iron Nuggets Decreases casting distance.
Double Hook 2 Iron Hooks Chance to catch two items at once.
Redstone Hook Iron Hook + 4 Redstone Increases the time window to reel in a fish.
Note Hook Iron Hook + 1 Note Block Plays a sound when a fish is approaching.
Nether Star Hook Diamond Hook + 1 Nether Star 50% bait preservation and massive luck bonus.

Bait Types

Bait is consumed upon catching a fish. It can be stored and applied via the Tackle Box. * Worms: 20 uses. Obtained from a Worm Farm. * Leeches: 35 uses. Caught while fishing in Swamp biomes. * Minnows: 50 uses. Caught while fishing in Freshwater biomes.

Neptunium Gear

Neptunium is a legendary material found within Neptune's Bounty chests. It is slightly stronger than Netherite and grants unique underwater abilities.

Neptunium Armor

Piece Ability Name Effect
Helmet Neptune's Gaze Grants infinite Night Vision while underwater.
Chestplate Neptune's Lungs Grants infinite Water Breathing.
Leggings Neptune's Weight Allows the player to sink and walk normally underwater.
Boots Neptune's Swiftness Significantly increases swim speed.

Neptunium Tools & Weapons

  • Pickaxe & Shovel: No mining speed penalty while underwater.
  • Sword & Axe: Deals increased damage to aquatic mobs.
  • Bow: Arrows travel through water without losing velocity or trajectory.
  • Hoe: Tilled farmland remains permanently hydrated (moist).
  • Fillet Knife: Unbreakable and yields the maximum amount of fish fillets.
