Applied Energistics Mod — Reference

Autocrafting

One of Applied Energistics' defining features is request-driven autocrafting, which lets the network build items on demand from stored materials and recipes.

  • ME Molecular Assembler Chamber: A multi-block structure that acts as the central crafting processor for the network, assembling requested items.
  • ME Pattern Encoder: A block used to encode crafting recipes onto blank patterns.
  • Blank Pattern: The medium onto which recipes are written so the network knows how to craft a given item.

With encoded patterns supplied to the network, a player can request an item through a terminal and have the system automatically gather the ingredients and craft it, including crafting intermediate components as needed. The design supports recipes-on-demand with essentially no limit on the number of machines that can be integrated, allowing very large automated production setups.

Materials and Tools

Applied Energistics introduces its own ores, processed materials, and tools used to build network components.

Ores and materials:

  • Certus Quartz Ore: Generates in the world and yields Certus Quartz; grinding crystals produces Certus Quartz Dust.
  • Certus Quartz Dust, Nether Quartz Dust, and Silicon: Processed crafting materials used throughout the mod's recipes.
  • Fluix Dust and Fluix Pearl: Special materials central to many advanced components.

Processing and building blocks:

  • Quartz Grindstone: A hand-powered block for grinding crystals and ores into dust.

Wooden Crank item icon - ME Condenser: A block that compresses matter, used to dispose of excess items or produce certain materials. - Quartz Glass and Vibrant Quartz Glass: Decorative building blocks. - Tiny TNT: A small explosive. - Quantum Network Bridge: A structure used to link networks together across distance.

Tools: A full set of quartz tools is available, including a Pickaxe, Axe, Shovel, Hoe, Sword, and Wrench. Electric tools include the Entropy Accelerator and the Vibration Catalyst.

Applied Energistics also integrates broadly with other technology mods through Forge, working alongside transport pipes, machines, and energy systems from popular mods so the ME Network can serve as a shared storage and automation backbone.
