Fix Missing or Broken Characters in Phonetic Scripts
Identify the Problem
When you switch to a phonetic language, you might see empty boxes, question marks, or garbled symbols instead of readable text. This happens because Minecraft's default font cannot display the special characters used in these alternative scripts.
Install a Modern Font Mod
This resource pack requires a modern font mod to work properly. The font mod adds support for:
- Extended Unicode characters
- Cyrillic, Arabic, and East Asian scripts
- Phonetic symbols and diacritical marks
Without it, the game cannot render these characters on your screen.
Verify the Fix
After installing a compatible font mod, restart Minecraft and switch back to your chosen phonetic language. Text should now display correctly as readable characters instead of boxes. If issues persist, ensure both the resource pack and font mod are enabled in your resource pack list and that they're compatible with your Minecraft version.
