How do I switch my game language to one of the phonetic scripts?
Open your Language settings in the main menu, and you'll see the 15 new phonetic language options listed alongside the vanilla languages. Select any of them—such as Katakana, Pinyin, or I18nglish—and your game text will immediately change to that script.
Do I need a font mod for this to work?
Yes, you need a modern font mod installed to display all the special characters and symbols correctly. Without it, many phonetic scripts will show as broken boxes or missing characters on your screen.
What's the difference between I18nglish and the other language options?
I18nglish is a fun abbreviated format that keeps only the first and last letters of English words and replaces the middle with a number—so "language" becomes "l8e." The other options convert text into actual writing systems like Katakana, Pinyin, or Cyrillic.
Can I use this with other mods that change languages or text?
Yes, this pack works well alongside mods that reload languages quickly. However, avoid using multiple language packs that modify the same text at the same time, as they may conflict.
Why are some characters showing as boxes or symbols instead of the phonetic script?
This means your font mod isn't installed or isn't compatible with all the special characters this pack uses. Install or update a modern font mod that supports extended Unicode characters.
Does this work for both English and Chinese text?
Yes—English text converts to scripts like Katakana and I18nglish, while Chinese text converts to formats like Pinyin, Bopomofo, Wade-Giles, and several others. If your game is set to English, only English text will change.

What if I want to use Pinyin specifically for Chinese text?
