When Sturdy Trees Mod is installed, breaking logs with your bare hand requires multiple hits instead of one. Each log now has several durability stages you must work through before it breaks and drops.
Steps to Break a Log by Hand
1. Locate any tree and approach a log block
2. Begin punching the log repeatedly
3. Watch as the log shows visual damage or cracks as you hit it
4. Continue hitting the same log until it finally breaks and drops as an item
5. Collect the wood and repeat for additional logs
Why This Matters
This mechanic forces you to spend more time on your first wood collection. The extra effort encourages you to find or craft an axe earlier in your progression, which is the intended balance change. Hand-breaking remains possible for survival situations, but it's inefficient enough that tool crafting becomes a priority.
