Small Utills Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I know if Small Utills is actually working?
Hold any of the items the pack modifies—like a Totem of Undying, Golden Apple, or Water Bucket—and compare them to vanilla size. If they appear noticeably smaller and take up less screen space, the pack is active. You can also check your resource pack list in Settings to confirm it's enabled.
Does Small Utills work in multiplayer servers?
Yes, resource packs are client-side only, so you can use Small Utills on any server without needing permission or installation on the server itself. Other players won't see your smaller items—only you will.
Which items does this pack actually make smaller?
Small Utills shrinks the Totem of Undying, Golden Apple, Water Bucket, End Crystal, Flint and Steel, Nether Star, Splash Potions, and Wind Charge. These are the items most likely to block your view during combat or fast-paced situations.
Will Small Utills slow down my game or cause lag?
No, this pack only modifies a few item textures and has minimal performance impact. It runs smoothly on any computer because it doesn't add particles, models, or complex effects—just resizes existing visuals.
Can I use Small Utills with other resource packs?
Yes, but pack order matters. If another pack also modifies the same items, whichever pack is lower in your resource pack list will take priority. You may need to reorder packs in Settings to get Small Utills to apply.
Does Small Utills change how items look in my inventory or on the ground?
No, Small Utills only affects how items appear when you hold them in your hand. Items in your inventory and on the ground keep their normal vanilla appearance.
Why should I use this for survival mode if I'm not doing PvP?
Even in survival, smaller held items mean better visibility when you're building, exploring, or managing fast situations like water bucket clutching or eating Golden Apples. You'll always see exactly what's in front of you without visual clutter.
Does Small Utills work with Bedrock Edition or only Java?
Small Utills is designed for Java Edition. Bedrock Edition uses a different resource pack format, so this pack won't work on that version.
What if Small Utills isn't showing up in my resource pack list?
Make sure the pack file is in your resourcepacks folder (usually found in your .minecraft directory). Restart Minecraft after adding it, then check Settings > Resource Packs to enable it.
Can I customize which items get smaller or make them even smaller?
Small Utills comes as a fixed pack with preset sizes designed for optimal visibility. To customize item sizes further, you would need to edit the pack files yourself or look for alternative packs with different size options.
