Optimize Performance on Low-End Computers
Identify Performance Settings
REAlite Shaders is designed for budget systems, but you can reduce load further. Open the shader options and locate the Performance or Quality section.
Reduce Visual Complexity
Look for these common optimization options:
- Shadow Quality: Lower shadow resolution or disable soft shadows to improve frame rate during outdoor exploration.
- Reflection Resolution: Reduce water reflection detail or disable reflections entirely if needed.
- Ambient Occlusion: Disable or lower this feature, which darkens crevices but costs performance.
- Lighting Passes: Some shaders allow you to reduce the number of light calculations per frame.
Test and Balance
Make one change at a time and check your FPS using F3 debug screen. Find the sweet spot where visuals remain pleasant but gameplay stays smooth. If you're still experiencing lag during mining or combat, consider lowering your render distance or disabling other resource-heavy mods. REAlite's design means you shouldn't need extreme cuts—modest adjustments usually suffice.
