Core Mechanics
The Redflux Field
The central mechanic of QuantumFlux is the Redflux Field, a global energy network. Unlike traditional power systems that require physical wires, QuantumFlux uses a 'buffer' system where energy is pushed into the field and pulled out by receivers.
- Wireless Transfer: Power is stored in a Quantum RF Entangler and retrieved by Quantum RF Exciters attached to machines.
- Cross-Dimensional: The wireless field works across dimensions, provided the chunks containing the Entangler and Exciters are loaded.
- Security: The network is player-specific. An RF Exciter will only pull power from the Entangler placed by the same player.
Wireless Power Blocks
To set up a wireless network, you must use the following blocks in tandem:
- Quantum RF Entangler: The 'transmitter.' It has an internal buffer and connects to the Redflux Field. It does not have a GUI; shift-right-clicking reveals its current stored energy.
- Quantum RF Exciter: The 'receiver.' Place this on any machine or energy conduit to pull power from your Entangler.
- Exciter Upgrade: Right-click an RF Exciter with this item to increase its transfer limit. Each upgrade adds 100 RF/t to the transfer capacity (up to a maximum of 1,000 RF/t per Exciter).
Utility and Machines
Item Fabricator
A specialized machine used to create advanced components like circuits and crystals. It requires RF to operate and combines two input items into a new output.
Imaginary Time Block
When powered with RF, this block accelerates the 'tick rate' of nearby blocks. It is most commonly used to drastically speed up crop growth or machine processing times.
Storehouse
A single-block storage solution that acts as a high-capacity chest. While it doesn't have the complexity of an ME system, it holds a vast number of items in a compact space.
Mob Trap
A block designed to hold entities in place. It is useful for trading with villagers or keeping hostile mobs contained for manual farming.
Tools and Armor
QuantumFlux provides high-tier equipment powered by RF.
- Quantum Flux Battle Suit: A full set of armor that, when charged, provides near-invulnerability. Each piece grants specific buffs:
- Helmet: Night Vision and Water Breathing.
- Chestplate: Creative-style Flight.
- Leggings: Speed and Strength.
- Boots: Jump Boost and Momentum.
- Eviscerator: A multi-tool that functions as a pickaxe, shovel, and sword. It uses RF instead of durability and can be toggled between different mining modes.
- Quibit Cell: A portable battery. When held and activated (Sneak + Right-Click), it automatically charges all RF-powered items in the player's inventory.
- Item Magnet: Pulls nearby items toward the player. It can be equipped in a Baubles slot if the mod is present.
