Combine Project Shaders with Resource Packs
Understand Compatibility
Project Shaders works as a visual layer on top of your resource pack. The shader handles lighting, shadows, and sky effects, while your resource pack provides textures and block models. Both work together to create the final appearance.
Load Resource Packs Correctly
Ensure your resource pack is active in the resource pack menu before launching a world with shaders enabled. The order matters—place your preferred resource pack above any conflicting packs.
Test Visual Cohesion
Load a world and check that:
- Block textures align well with the new lighting
- Colors don't appear washed out or oversaturated under shader lighting
- Emissive textures (glowing blocks) interact properly with shader glow effects
Adjust Shader Settings for Your Pack
Different resource packs may benefit from different shader configurations. A realistic pack might need stronger shadows, while a stylized pack might prefer softer lighting. Revisit shader options if textures appear mismatched with the lighting style.
Experiment with multiple combinations to find a pairing that feels cohesive and visually appealing.
