The Mimic (Mob)

Mimics are the primary threat introduced by the mod. They are hostile entities that perfectly mimic the appearance of any chest type. A Mimic remains motionless until a player attempts to open it or break it, at which point it reveals its sharp teeth and attacks.

Behavior

• Ambush: Mimics stay idle and are indistinguishable from regular chests until interacted with.
• Movement: They move by hopping aggressively toward the player, similar to Slimes or Magma Cubes.
• Retreat: If a Mimic cannot reach its target for a period of time, it may return to its chest form to wait for another opportunity.
• Detection: While they look identical to chests, players may notice subtle differences in placement or use a Suspicious Key to force a transformation.

Stats & Drops

Drops: * Suspicious Eye: A rare material used for crafting keys. * Key Fragments: Used to assemble various keys. * Random Loot: Mimics drop the items that would have been found in the chest they were mimicking.

Items and Keys

The mod introduces several items essential for interacting with the new chests and mobs.

Keys

• Iron Key: Used to lock and unlock standard chests and Pet Mimics.
• Gold Key: Required to open the naturally spawning Gold Chests.
• Void Key: Required to open Void Chests found in the End dimension.
• Suspicious Key: When used on a placed chest, it transforms the chest into a Wild Mimic.
• Friendly Key: The primary item used to tame Wild Mimics.

Miscellaneous Items

• Suspicious Eye: Dropped by Mimics; a core component in high-tier key crafting.
• Key Fragments: Common drops from Mimics used to craft various keys.
• Mimic Hand Bell: Used for abandoning or reclaiming Pet Mimics near Amethyst Clusters.

Crafting Recipes

Most items in the mod can be crafted using standard materials and Mimic drops.

Note: Biome chests are generally crafted by surrounding a standard wooden chest with the corresponding biome block (e.g., Ice for Ice Chests, Netherrack for Molten Chests).
