Mobs
Pet Bat
The Pet Bat is the central feature of the mod, a loyal companion that fights alongside its owner. [1, 4, 5]
Appearance: A pet bat initially resembles a regular bat. Upon reaching its maximum level, it gains a distinctive enchanted visual effect, causing it to shine. [1, 2, 4, 5]
Taming: * Method: Right-click a wild bat with a Pumpkin Pie. [1, 4, 5] * Initial Naming: A tamed bat is assigned a random name upon acquisition. [1, 2, 4, 5]
Levels and Experience: Pet bats can achieve up to 6 levels, with each level increasing their maximum health and attack damage. [1, 4, 5] Experience is gained by dealing damage to any mob, regardless of whether the bat secures the kill. [1, 2, 4, 5]
| Level | Description / Abilities | Health (approx.) | Attack Power (approx.) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | Adorable and only slightly weaponized. | 16 | 1 |
| 1 | Becomes a "Brawler Pet Bat." | 20 | 2 |
| 3 | Gains a 33% lifesteal ability on attack. | ||
| 6 | Reaches maximum level, gains enchantment visuals, and deals significant damage. | 7 |
Healing: Pet bats can be healed in two primary ways: * Direct Feeding: Drop a Pumpkin Pie on the ground near the bat, and it will consume it to restore health. [1, 2, 4, 5] * Crafting: Combine the Pet Bat item with a Pumpkin Pie in a crafting table. [1, 2, 4, 5]
Death and Revival: If a pet bat's health drops to zero, it does not die permanently but returns to its owner's inventory as an item. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] The bat must then be fed (healed) before it can be deployed again. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] If the owner is not present on the server when the bat "dies," the bat is permanently lost. [1, 3, 4, 5] Dying also results in the loss of any experience accumulated towards the next level. [2]
Behavior: * Following: Pet bats consistently follow their owner and remain in close proximity when not engaged in combat. [1, 3, 4, 5] * Idle: When idle, bats will attempt to find a suitable spot to hang upside down. [1, 3, 4] * Startling: They can be startled from their hanging spots by other players, attacks, breaking the block they are on, or dropping a Pumpkin Pie. [1, 3, 4] * Teleportation: If a bat becomes stuck and its owner moves too far away, it will automatically teleport into the owner's inventory. [1, 3, 4, 5] * Vulnerabilities: Pet bats are not immune to fire, lava, or explosions. [1, 3, 4, 5] * Training: They do not take damage from zombies, making zombie spawners an effective and safe environment for training and leveling them. [1, 4, 5] * Offline Behavior: If the owner logs off the server, the bat will remain at its last active location. [1, 3, 4, 5]
Ownership: Ownership of a pet bat is permanently tied to the player who tamed it and does not transfer with the bat item. This prevents other players from stealing a tamed bat. [1, 3, 4, 5] Other players can feed a pet bat by dropping Pumpkin Pie nearby. [1, 3, 4, 5]
Items
Pet Bat (Item)
When a pet bat is picked up or returns to the owner's inventory, it exists as an item. Holding this item in hand grants the player a Night Vision effect, which is continuous but may flicker. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] Right-clicking the Pet Bat item opens an interface that allows the owner to rename the bat and view its current level, experience, health, and attack power. [4, 5] Dropping the item (default 'Q' key) will release the bat to fly and follow the player. [4, 5]
Pumpkin Pie
Pumpkin Pie serves as the essential item for interacting with bats in this mod. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] * Taming: Used to tame wild bats. [1, 4, 5] * Healing: Used to heal injured pet bats. [1, 2, 4, 5]
Recipes
