Adjust Visibility if Outlines Are Too Bright or Dim

Check Optifine Glow Settings

The brightness of ore outlines depends on your Optifine configuration. If glowing ores are too bright and distracting, or too dim to see clearly, adjust your video settings:

1. Open Options → Video Settings

2. Look for glow or emissive texture settings in Optifine's extended options

3. Reduce the value if outlines are overwhelming, or increase it if they're hard to spot

4. Test in a dark cave and adjust until comfortable

Lighting Conditions Matter

Outlines are most visible in darkness. If you're mining in well-lit areas with many torches, the glow effect becomes less noticeable because ambient light washes it out. For best results, explore caves with minimal lighting to let the ore glow stand out. You can always add torches for safety once you've located valuable blocks.
