Do I need Optifine to use OutlinedOres?
Yes, Optifine is required for the glowing outline effect to work. Without it, the ores will not display their bright outlines and the mod will not function as intended.
Which ore blocks get outlines?
All standard ore blocks receive outlines, including diamond, gold, iron, emerald, lapis, redstone, coal, and copper ore. The outlines make them visible from a distance even in dark caves.
Why can't I see the glowing outlines?
Make sure Optifine is installed and enabled in your launcher. Also check that the resource pack is active in your resource packs menu—it should appear in the right-hand list, not the left.
Can I use OutlinedOres with other resource packs?
Yes, but load order matters. Place OutlinedOres lower in your resource pack list (higher priority) so its ore textures override other packs. If conflicts occur, you may need to adjust which pack loads first.
The outlines are too bright and hurt my eyes—can I dim them?
You can reduce brightness by lowering your Optifine shader brightness settings or by using a shader pack with adjustable glow intensity. Some players also find that reducing their monitor brightness helps.
Do the outlines work in the Nether and End?
Yes, OutlinedOres highlights ores in all dimensions, including ancient debris in the Nether and any ore blocks you encounter in the End.

Can I see ore outlines through stone walls?
No, the outlines only render on ore blocks that are directly visible to you. Ores hidden behind solid blocks will not glow, so you still need to mine or explore to find them.
What do I do if OutlinedOres conflicts with my shader pack?
Try loading OutlinedOres above your shader pack in the resource pack list, or check if your shader has its own ore highlighting feature that might be interfering. You may need to disable one or the other.
