Oreberries Mechanics

To successfully farm oreberries, players must adhere to specific environmental requirements.

Light Level Requirements

Oreberry bushes are cave-dwelling plants and thrive in the dark.

• Placement: Metallic oreberry bushes can only be placed in areas with a light level of 12 or lower
• Growth: For a bush to progress through its growth stages and produce berries, the light level must be below 10. If the area is too bright, the bush will remain stagnant
• Exception: Essence Berry Bushes are unique; they do not have light level constraints and can grow in full daylight or total darkness

Growth Stages

1. Small: The bush is a small, leafy sprout.
2. Medium: The bush grows to nearly a full block size but has no visible berries.
3. Mature: Small metallic or glowing dots appear on the bush texture. At this stage, the bush can be harvested.

Automation

Because berries are harvested via right-click, they are highly compatible with automation mods. Machines like the Autonomous Activator (Thermal Expansion) or the Harvester (MineFactory Reloaded/Industrial Foregoing) can be used to create fully automated ore and XP farms.
