More Buckets Mod — Guide

Mechanics

More Buckets introduces several advanced mechanics that distinguish these items from vanilla tools.

Multi-Fluid Storage

Unlike vanilla buckets that are either full or empty, buckets from this mod track their fluid levels precisely. You can pick up multiple sources of the same fluid until the bucket reaches its maximum capacity. When placing fluid, the bucket will only deplete 1,000 mB per source block placed, allowing for multiple uses before needing a refill.

Crafting Integration

One of the most powerful features of the mod is its integration with the vanilla crafting system. These buckets can be used in any crafting recipe that requires a bucket of fluid (such as Cake or Concrete Powder). - Efficiency: If you use a Diamond Bucket filled with 8,000 mB of milk in a Cake recipe, it will only consume 1,000 mB and return the bucket with 7,000 mB remaining, rather than consuming the entire item or requiring eight separate vanilla buckets.

Machine Compatibility

All buckets in this mod implement the standard Forge/NeoForge fluid handler capability. This means they can be placed inside machines from other mods (like Thermal Expansion, Mekanism, or Industrial Foregoing) to be filled or emptied automatically. They act as portable tanks that can be slotted into any fluid-compatible GUI.

Items: The Buckets

The core of the mod is its collection of material-based buckets. Each tier offers a different fluid capacity, measured in millibuckets (mB), where 1,000 mB is equivalent to one standard vanilla bucket.

Bucket Tiers and Capacities

Item Material Capacity (mB) Capacity (Buckets) Image
Wooden Bucket Wood Planks 1,000 mB 1 Bucket
Stone Bucket Cobblestone 1,000 mB 1 Bucket
Quartz Bucket Nether Quartz 2,000 mB 2 Buckets
Obsidian Bucket Obsidian 4,000 mB 4 Buckets
Gold Bucket Gold Ingot 4,000 mB 4 Buckets
Diamond Bucket Diamond 8,000 mB 8 Buckets
Emerald Bucket Emerald 8,000 mB 8 Buckets

Note: The capacities listed above are the default values and may vary depending on the specific modpack configuration.

Recipes

Crafting the buckets follows the familiar "V" shape pattern used for the vanilla iron bucket. Replace the iron ingots with the corresponding material to create the desired tier.

General Crafting Pattern: - Top Left: [Material] - Top Right: [Material] - Bottom Center: [Material]

Note: The Wooden Bucket can be crafted using any type of wood planks, and the Stone Bucket can be crafted using Cobblestone or Stone.
