Finding Tameable Walruses
Walruses spawn on ice floes and snowy coastal biomes in groups. Not all walruses are immediately tameable—you'll need to identify individuals that show signs of docility or approach you without immediate aggression.
Taming Process
Approach walruses slowly and offer food items they're attracted to. Patience is essential; repeated positive interactions build trust. Once a walrus accepts you, you can attempt to mount it. The taming process may take multiple visits, so return to the same walruses regularly to build familiarity.
Riding and Control
Once tamed, right-click the walrus to mount. You can ride it across ice and shallow water, making travel through arctic biomes faster and more enjoyable. Tamed walruses retain some independence—they'll still interact with their environment and other walruses, but will generally stay near you. Bring food to keep your walrus healthy during long journeys. Avoid riding into deep water or toward predators, as walruses have limited combat ability. Treat your walrus well and it becomes a reliable arctic companion.
