How to Interact with Nesting Birds

Finding Eagle and Cassowary Nests

Eagles build large nests high in savanna biome trees. Climb carefully to observe their nesting behavior without disturbing them. Cassowaries nest on the ground in their territories and will aggressively defend their nests from threats, including snakes and players who get too close.

Safe Observation Practices

Approach nests from a distance and never attempt to climb directly to an eagle nest if the bird is present—they may attack. For cassowaries, respect their territorial boundaries. These birds will stand their ground and fight to protect their homes, so maintain significant distance unless you're prepared for combat.

Watch for nesting behavior patterns: eagles hunting from their nests, cassowaries patrolling their territory perimeter, and interactions with predators like snakes. The best time to observe is during daylight when birds are most active. Bring binoculars (if available in your modpack) or use zoom to study nest contents and behavior without triggering defensive responses. Never steal eggs or damage nests—this disrupts the ecosystem and may cause permanent behavioral changes.
