Mine Painter Mod FAQ

It lets you sculpt blocks into 3D shapes and paint detailed pixel art on canvases. It adds tools for chiseling, painting, and crafting the chiseled pieces back into bars, covers, or whole blocks.

It is available for Minecraft 1.6.4, 1.7.2, and 1.7.10.

It adds chisels (stone, iron, and diamond), a wrench, a canvas, a palette, brushes (small and mixer), a paint bucket, and an eraser. It also adds sculpture pieces, bars, and covers.

Right click a normal full block with a chisel. The stone chisel sculpts 1x1x1, the iron chisel sculpts 1x1x8, and the diamond chisel sculpts 1x8x8.

Use a wrench on the sculpture. Right clicking a face with the wrench rotates it.

Place a canvas, then use a palette to pick a color and a brush to draw with it. The small brush draws one pixel, the mixer brush draws one pixel and blends eight around it, and the paint bucket dyes the whole canvas.

Use the eraser. It erases one pixel and blends the eight pixels around it to create transparency.

Craft sculpture pieces into bars, bars into covers, and covers back into a whole block.

Right click the paint bucket against water to get an empty bucket back.

It is similar in that it lets you sculpt blocks into custom shapes, but it also adds canvas painting and chisel crafting. The 9Minecraft article describes it as much better than the Little Blocks Mod.
