Key Language Pack Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I enable the translation keys language option?
Open your Language settings in the Options menu, then look for a language option called "Translation (Keys)" or similar in the dropdown list. Select it and the game will immediately replace all text with raw translation keys.
What's the difference between the two translation key modes?
Raw Key Mode shows only the base code name for each item, block, or button. Keys with Arguments mode shows the same code but also includes extra data in parentheses that the game uses to customize that text.
Why do some keys have stuff in parentheses after them?
Those parentheses contain arguments—extra information the game passes to customize the text, like item counts, player names, or damage values. This mode is useful when you need to see exactly what data is being used to generate the final text.
Can I use this pack on a multiplayer server?
Yes, resource packs are client-side only, so you can use this pack on any server without needing permission or affecting other players. Everyone sees their own version of the game based on their installed packs.
Does this pack work with other language packs at the same time?
No, language selection is global—you can only have one language active at a time. You'll need to switch back and forth between this pack's translation key language and your normal language when you need to compare them.
How do I find the translation key for a specific item or block?
Enable the Translation (Keys) language option, then look at the item or block in your inventory or in the world—its name will display as the raw translation key instead of the normal name.
Will this pack slow down my game or cause lag?
No, this is a lightweight resource pack that only changes text display. It has no impact on performance or frame rate.
Can I use this pack with mods that add new items or blocks?
Yes, the pack will display translation keys for modded items and blocks too, as long as those mods follow standard translation key naming. This makes it especially useful for finding the exact names of modded content.
What should I do if some text still shows normal words instead of keys?
Some text may be hardcoded into mods or the game and won't be affected by language packs. Try using the Keys with Arguments mode to see if it captures more text, or check if the mod author has translation support enabled.
Is this pack useful if I'm not making resource packs or translating?
It can be useful for curiosity or debugging, but it's primarily designed for resource pack creators and translators who need to find and edit specific text strings in the game.
