Why Your Named Mobs Matter
Chunk Shield Plugin automatically removes excess entities when a chunk gets too crowded—but it has a built-in safety system for mobs you care about. Any mob with a custom name tag is protected from deletion during cleanup cycles.
How to Safeguard Your Pets
1. Name your mob using a Name Tag (craft one or find it in loot) and an anvil, or use a naming command if available on your server.
2. Apply the name tag to your pet or important mob by holding it and right-clicking the mob.
3. Verify the name appears above the mob's head in the world.
4. The plugin will now exclude this mob from entity removal, even if the chunk reaches capacity.
Best Practices
- Name all pets, breeding animals, and custom mobs you want to keep long-term.
- Named mobs still count toward the mob limit, so don't rely on this as a workaround to pack unlimited entities into one area.
- If a named mob dies, it's gone—the protection only prevents server cleanup, not damage.
- Use descriptive names (like "Breeding Pair" or "Shop Guard") to track which mobs are protected.
