How to Become a Werewolf

Getting Infected

Werewolf transformation starts with a bite. Let a Werewolf land a hit on you, or use a Strange Injection on yourself. Once infected, you carry the condition and will transform when night falls. Watch for the warning signs before your first change so you are somewhere safe.

Surviving Your First Night

Before the moon rises, store your gear in a chest. Your inventory is not safe during a transformation. Eat well and pick a location away from your base, because a fresh werewolf is not in control.

Confirming the Change

When night comes, you transform automatically. You gain night vision, speed, and claw attacks, but villagers and other players will react to you as a monster. Return to human form at dawn.

Tracking Your Progress

Open your character sheet to see your werewolf level. Each level unlocks stronger abilities and better control. The path from a wild Lycanthrope to an Alpha Werewolf takes many nights of surviving transformations and hunting.

Staying Safe

Keep a spare set of armor and a weapon in a chest near where you plan to transform. If you die as a werewolf, you respawn as a human with the infection still active, so you can try again the next night.
