Frequently asked questions

Do I have to beat the Ender Dragon before I can use this mod?
Yes, the Abyssal Core ore only spawns on outer End islands after the Ender Dragon is defeated. You won't find any ore to mine until you've completed that fight.
How do I get Abyssal Core Ingots?
Mine Abyssal Core ore to collect dust, combine four dust into shards at a crafting table, then surround a Netherite ingot with eight shards at a crafting table to create an Abyssal Core ingot.
Where do I find the upgrade template?
Upgrade templates are found inside End City chests. You can duplicate them by placing a template, End Stone, and a Netherite ingot together at a crafting table.
Can I upgrade Diamond gear or does it have to be Netherite?
You must use Netherite gear—the mod only upgrades Netherite tools, weapons, armor, and horse armor at the smithing table.
How do I use the sword teleportation strike?
Hold your upgraded Abyssal Core sword and press R to teleport to nearby enemies in front of you and hit them with triple damage. The ability has a cooldown between uses.
How do I turn on vein mining?
Hold an upgraded Abyssal Core tool and press Sneak + R to toggle vein mining on or off. When active, it breaks up to 64 connected blocks of the same type at once.
What happens when I wear the full Abyssal Core armor set?
When your health drops to two hearts or lower, the armor automatically triggers a knockback shockwave that pushes hostile mobs away and grants you regeneration.
Do the ability cooldowns work on servers and can they be changed?
Yes, all cooldowns and ability settings are configurable, so server admins can adjust them to fit their balance needs.
Do mined blocks go straight into my inventory with upgraded tools?
Yes, when you use vein mining or break blocks with upgraded tools, the items are transferred directly into your inventory instead of dropping on the ground.
Can I upgrade horse armor with this mod?
Yes, Abyssal Core Forged allows you to upgrade Netherite horse armor at the smithing table using the same process as other gear.
