How to Become a Vampire Hunter

Starting the Hunter Path

A player who is not a Vampire can become a Vampire Hunter. Craft a Basic Crossbow and an Arrow clip to arm yourself. Hunters use crossbows and specialized gear rather than blood magic.

Hunter Progression

Kill Vampires and vampire-related mobs to earn hunter experience. As you progress you unlock stronger hunter gear. The Vampire Hunter Spawn Egg and Advanced Vampire Hunter Spawn Egg exist for testing, but in normal play you fight naturally spawned Vampires.

Hunter Tools and Blocks

Hunters rely on the Alchemy Table for brewing hunter potions and the Alchemical Cauldron for processing ingredients. Place an Altar of Cleansing to remove vampire effects from yourself or others. Use a Blood Sieve to drain blood from the ground or from mobs, and a Blood Grinder to process blood-related materials. Dark Stone and Dark Stone Bricks, along with Cursed Planks and Cursed Logs, are the building materials associated with hunter and vampire structures. Crosses, Candelabras, Candle Sticks and Chandeliers are decorative light sources you can place in a hunter base. If you later want to switch sides, you must first cure yourself of vampirism, then begin the hunter path.
