Smart Moving Reforged FAQ

Hold the grab key while facing a wall and press forward into it; your character latches on and you can move up, down, or sideways along the surface. Release the grab key to let go.

Climbing only works on solid, climbable surfaces and usually requires you to be pressing into the wall while holding the grab key. If nothing happens, check that your grab key is actually bound and that you're not trying to grab a non-solid block like leaves or glass.

Hold the crawl/sneak toggle key and move toward the gap; your character lowers into a crawl pose and can pass through spaces only one block tall. Release the key or stand up in open space to return to normal height.

While sprinting, press the slide key to drop into a slide that carries you forward under low openings or across gaps. You need forward momentum first, so start from a run rather than standing still.

A head jump lets you launch upward off a wall or ledge by jumping while grabbing or pressed against a vertical surface. Face the wall, hold the grab key, and jump to boost yourself toward a higher ledge.

Jump toward a wall, then jump again while your character is in contact with it to push off and gain height or change direction. Chaining wall jumps between two facing walls lets you climb narrow shafts.

Open the controls/keybinds menu in Minecraft options and look for the Smart Moving Reforged category, where each action like grab, crawl, slide, and jump has its own bind. Rebind any of them the same way you would a vanilla key.

Yes, the mod's config lets you enable or disable individual movement features so you can keep only the ones you want. Check the config file or in-game config screen for per-feature toggles.

It generally works alongside most mods, but other mods that also override player movement, animations, or the player model can conflict with its poses. If animations look broken or moves stop working, test with those mods disabled to isolate the conflict.
