Where do I find the new ores?
New ores spawn underground like vanilla ores—mine deeper to find more variety. Different ores have different spawn heights and frequencies, so exploring multiple cave systems will give you access to the full range of metals and gemstones.
What do I do with raw ore chunks?
Raw ore chunks are the first drop from mining and must be processed into usable materials like ingots, dusts, or nuggets through smelting or other crafting recipes. Check your mod's processing guide to see which furnace or crafting method works for each ore type.
Can I use these ores in other mods' recipes?
Yes—all items use standard Minecraft tags, so they're compatible with recipes from technical mods and modpacks without conflicts. You can substitute Primal Vein metals and gems anywhere the recipe calls for the equivalent material.
How do I make storage blocks?
You can craft solid decorative blocks from ingots and polished gems of any metal or mineral in the mod. These blocks are purely decorative and great for building displays or organizing your base aesthetically.
Do I need a special tool to mine these ores?
No—use the same pickaxe tiers you'd normally use for ore at that depth; the mod doesn't add special tool requirements. Harder ores may need higher-tier pickaxes, similar to how diamond ore requires an iron pickaxe or better.
Why am I not finding certain ores?
Some ores spawn only at specific depths or in lower quantities than others. Make sure you're mining at the right Y-level and exploring enough caves—rarer ores require more searching.
What's the difference between nuggets, dusts, and ingots?
Nuggets are small pieces (typically nine make one ingot), dusts are fine powder used in some recipes, and ingots are the standard crafting material. Each drop type serves different purposes in processing and crafting.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The mod adds ore generation but doesn't introduce complex mechanics or entities, so performance impact is minimal on most systems. If you experience issues, check that your render distance and chunk loading settings are reasonable.
Can I disable certain ores or change spawn rates?
Configuration options are typically available in the mod's config file, allowing you to customize which ores spawn and how frequently. Check your mod folder's config directory for Primal Vein settings.
Do polished gems have any use besides decoration?
Polished gems are primarily decorative and used for crafting storage blocks, but they may also work in recipes from other mods that accept gem-type items thanks to standard tagging. Check your modpack's recipes to see if they're needed for anything specific.
