How do I open the MiniHUD menu?
Press the MiniHUD hotkey (by default it's bound to a key you can check in your controls settings) to toggle the info lines on and off, and hold the config hotkey to open the settings screen. If nothing appears, check your keybinds under Options > Controls for the MiniHUD category.
How do I use MiniHUD Mod?
Once the mod is installed, press its hotkey to display the info lines on your screen, then open the config menu to choose which lines you want to see. From there you can enable things like coordinates, biome, light level, and the light level overlay.
How do I turn on the light level overlay?
Open the MiniHUD config screen and enable the light level overlay option, which renders numbers on blocks showing their light level. You can usually set a threshold so only blocks below a certain light level are highlighted, which helps you spot spawnable spots.
Why does MiniHUD show numbers on the ground?
Those numbers are the light level overlay, which displays the light level of each block so you can find dark spots where mobs can spawn. You can turn it off in the config or adjust the threshold to only show problem areas.
How do I move the MiniHUD text on my screen?
Open the config menu and look for the position or alignment settings, which let you anchor the info lines to a corner or edge of the screen. You can also adjust the scale and text style there to make it more readable.
Does MiniHUD work on Bedrock?
No, MiniHUD is a Java Edition client-side mod and does not work on Bedrock Edition. Bedrock players would need a different solution, since the mod relies on Java mod loaders.
Does MiniHUD work with NeoForge?
MiniHUD is available for multiple Java mod loaders, so check the version you downloaded matches your loader. If you installed the Fabric build on a NeoForge setup it won't load, and vice versa.
Is MiniHUD client side or server side?
MiniHUD is a client-side mod, so it only needs to be installed on your own game and works on any server. It won't give you information the server doesn't send, but it doesn't require server-side installation either.
Why is MiniHUD not showing up?
The most common causes are a missing dependency like MaLiLib, a mod loader mismatch, or the info lines simply being toggled off. Check that the required library mod is installed and press the toggle hotkey to make sure the display isn't hidden.
Does MiniHUD cause lag?
MiniHUD is lightweight, but the light level overlay and structure/entity features can cost performance when enabled over large areas. If you notice frame drops, disable the overlays you aren't actively using and keep only the basic info lines on.
