From Raw Steel to Steel Ingot
Steel production starts with
Raw Steel. You need a
Raw Steel Block as an intermediate storage block, and the actual conversion into usable metal happens through
blasting. Place your
Raw Steel into a furnace set up for
blasting to produce
Steel Ingot. The mod includes
blasting recipes specifically for this chain, so use a blast furnace rather than a regular furnace for the best results.
Once you have
Steel Ingot, you can break it down into
Steel Nugget for smaller crafts, or combine ingots into a
Steel Block for storage and building.
Steel Block is also a decorative and structural block you can place directly in the world.
Turning Ingots into Parts
Most Mapper Base recipes do not use ingots directly. You convert them into intermediate components first:
Steel Plate — used in armor, tools, and many shaped recipes.
Steel Rod — used in tools, fences, and similar items.
Rivet — a small fastener used in assembling larger steel items.
Iron Plate and
Iron Rod — the iron equivalents, needed for early tools like the
Flatter Hammer.
Keep a stock of
Steel Plate,
Steel Rod, and
Rivet on hand. Nearly every steel tool, armor piece, and building block in the mod is assembled from these parts rather than from raw ingots, so batching them early saves repeated trips to the
crafting table.
