Understanding Dimension Support
Map
Atlases is designed to track terrain across multiple dimensions within a single
Atlas. When you travel to the Nether, the End, or another dimension added by mods, the
Atlas automatically switches to a separate map layer for that dimension. This means you do not need multiple
atlases for different realms.
Switching Between Dimension Maps
Open your
Atlas and look for the dimension selector in the interface. Clicking it cycles through the dimensions you have visited. Each dimension retains its own explored terrain, so your Overworld map stays intact while you chart the Nether. Simply travel to a new dimension and walk around to begin filling in that layer.
Keeping Maps Organized
- The
Atlas remembers which dimension you last viewed, so reopening it returns you to that layer. - If you frequently travel between dimensions, use the selector to quickly jump between maps.
- Terrain in each dimension is tracked independently, so coordinates and landmarks do not carry over between layers.
- Combine this with portals or waypoints to plan routes across dimensions efficiently.
