Understanding the Blood Meter
After becoming a vampire, you gain a blood level that functions like a hunger bar but for blood. It slowly drains over time, and certain actions may drain it faster. When your blood level is high you function normally and can use your vampire abilities. When it drops low, you become weakened and may take damage or lose access to powers.
Feeding to Restore Blood
The primary way to refill your blood level is to feed on living creatures. You can drink blood from mobs and, depending on the mod's mechanics, from players. Approach a target and use your feeding action to drain blood from it. Each feeding restores a portion of your blood meter. Be careful about which targets you choose — feeding on some entities may draw attention or have consequences, and some may fight back.
Staying Safe
Plan your feeding trips so you do not run dry in a dangerous spot. Carry a way to feed even when away from your base, and avoid venturing into sunlight with a low blood level, since the combination of sun damage and weakness can be lethal. Keeping your blood topped up also lets you make full use of your vampire abilities when you need them most, such as during combat or when traversing dangerous terrain.
