How to Become a Vampire in Haema

Getting the Blood

To become a vampire you need to obtain Vampire Blood and inject it into yourself. Vampire Blood is not something you can craft from scratch — you get it by extracting it from a vampire. Vampires spawn in the world, typically in dark places at night, similar to other hostile mobs. Defeat a vampire and it will drop the blood you need, or you can capture and drain one using the proper equipment.

Using the Injector

Once you have Vampire Blood, you need an Empty Vampire Blood Injector. Combine the empty injector with the blood to fill it, producing a Vampire Blood Injector. Right-click while holding the filled injector to inject the blood into yourself. This is the moment your character becomes a vampire. After the injection, you will begin to experience the vampire gameplay systems: you will have a blood level that depletes over time, and you will need to feed on blood to survive.

What Changes

After turning, sunlight becomes dangerous to you. You will start taking damage when exposed to direct sunlight, so plan your transformation for nighttime or have shelter nearby. Your diet changes too — normal food no longer sustains you the way it used to. Instead, you must drink blood to keep your blood level up. Keep an eye on your blood meter; when it runs low you will suffer negative effects. Feeding restores it.
