How to Get and Use the Vein Goblin Trader

The Vein Goblin Trader is the rarer, more specialized variant of the goblin. Where a normal goblin wanders caves, the vein goblin is tied to ore-bearing stone and tends to appear in the deep, mineral-rich layers of the world. Its trades lean toward things a miner actually wants.

Finding a Vein Goblin

Dig deep and explore areas where ore is dense. Vein goblins are far less common than regular goblins, so expect a long search if you rely on natural spawning. Strip mining through ore-heavy layers and checking every side tunnel gives you the best odds. If you have the Vein Goblin Trader Spawn Egg, you can place one directly and skip the hunt.

Trading and Practical Use

Right-click to open the trade screen exactly as with a normal goblin. The offers are randomized per individual, so the value you get depends on which one you find. Because vein goblins appear near ore, a productive routine is to mine a deep branch, and whenever you cross a vein goblin, dump your surplus raw ore and stone into its trades before continuing. Do not kill it for drops; its value is entirely in repeatable trading. Mark the spot with a torch or a sign so you can return with a full inventory later.
