How to Deal with Space Moss Bugs

Where They Come From

Space moss bugs are the mob associated with this mod's mossy terrain. They show up around space moss and meteor impact sites, so you will most often meet them right after a meteor shower or while working in a moss patch you have grown yourself. They are small and easy to overlook until several are on you at once.

Handling Them Safely

Before you start mining a crater or expanding a moss farm, do a quick sweep of the area and clear any bugs first. Fight them the way you would any small hostile mob — keep your back to open ground, use a sword, and do not let them surround you. If you are building rather than fighting, it is often faster to wall off or light up the area you are working in so they stop spawning near you. A space moss bug spawn egg exists if you want to test their behavior in a controlled spot, but for normal play you will get plenty just from the moss itself. If a patch is overrun, break the moss blocks you are standing near, deal with the bugs, then re-place the moss once the area is clear.
