Choosing the Right Finder for the Job

The Mineral Finder is the general-purpose option among the three tools. While the Gem Finder targets precious gems and the Metal Finder targets metals, the Mineral Finder helps you locate mineral ores more broadly. Hold it in your main hand and it scans the area around you automatically, alerting you when a relevant ore is close. No activation is needed—just keep it equipped as you explore.

Efficient Mining Runs

Use the Mineral Finder when you want to stock up on common but essential ores rather than hunt for a specific rare gem. Walk through natural caves, ravines, or your own branch mines and let the finder ping. When you get a signal, move slowly and watch how the feedback changes with your position. Stronger feedback means you are heading the right way. Dig toward the source, collect the ore, then resume your route. Because the finder keeps scanning as you move, you can chain multiple deposits together in one trip. Pair it with a good pickaxe and plenty of torches so you can act on each signal immediately. Over time this turns random exploration into a directed search, cutting down the amount of stone you mine for every ore you bring home.
