Icon Xaero's — Guide

Turning On the Icons

By default the Xaero's radar shows icons only for other players and draws every mob as a colored dot. To see the mob icons from this pack you must switch the radar into icon mode:

  1. Open the Xaero's Minimap settings and go to Entity Radar Settings.
  2. Find the Display Icons option.
  3. Change it from Player List to Always.

With Display Icons: Always enabled, nearby creatures immediately appear as their own sprites on both the minimap and the world map. If a mob has no matching icon it falls back to the normal dot.

Minimap and World Map

The icons are drawn on both Xaero tools:

  • Minimap — the small on-screen radar shows the icons of creatures close to you, updating as they move.
  • World Map — the full-screen map shows the same icons at their real positions, which is handy for spotting groups of mobs across a wider area.

Both read the same icon set, so the look stays consistent whether you are glancing at the corner minimap or studying the full map.

Reading the Radar

Because each creature has a recognizable sprite, you can tell threats from harmless mobs without opening any menu. A creeper, an enderman, or a piglin each show their own face on the radar rather than an identical dot, so you know at a glance whether something nearby is dangerous, neutral, or passive.

You can still adjust the radar's icon size and other display options in the Entity Radar Settings if you want the icons larger or smaller.
