Maximizing Visual Impact in Caves and Mining Areas

Lighting Underground Spaces

Caves feel significantly more alive with High on Animations. The pack transforms basic lighting setups into immersive environments.

Setup Strategy

Torch placement: Line cave walls with animated torches at regular intervals. The flickering creates movement that makes spaces feel less empty and more dangerous—perfect for early-game exploration.

Furnace lighting: Position furnaces at mining checkpoints or base entrances. Active furnaces with animated flames serve as both light sources and visual landmarks.

Soul torches and soul lanterns: Use these in spooky cave sections for an eerie, moving glow that enhances atmosphere without bright white light.

Glowstone accents: Install animated glowstone in ceiling panels or wall features. The moving patterns make large cave ceilings feel less flat and monotonous.

Performance Note

Animations are lightweight and shouldn't impact cave exploration performance. The pack animates textures rather than adding new entities, so even large lit areas remain smooth. This makes it ideal for extensive underground bases or mining operations where you want both visibility and visual appeal.
