Equipping a Mob Hat

Once you've picked up a mob, you can wear it on your head if the feature is enabled. Open your inventory and look for your helmet armor slot. Drag the mob item from your hand or inventory into the helmet slot—the mob will now sit on top of your head as a hat.

Removing and Replacing

To remove the mob from your head, click it again in the helmet slot and it will return to your inventory or hand. You can then place it back on the ground or swap it for a different mob hat.

Note that wearing a mob as a hat is purely cosmetic and doesn't provide armor protection. If your server or world has can_wear_hat disabled in the configuration, this feature won't be available. The mob remains alive and unharmed while equipped—it's simply a fun way to display your captured creatures.
