Creating a Channel
Linked chests work by assigning dyes to create color channels. Each unique combination of dyes creates a separate shared inventory.
1. Craft or obtain dyes in your chosen colors
2. Right-click the top of a chest to open its dye interface
3. Click the button slots and place dyes into them—you can use up to three dyes per chest
4. Note your dye combination so you can replicate it on other chests
Linking Multiple Chests
Once you've assigned dyes to your first chest:
1. Craft additional chests at your other base locations
2. Apply the exact same dye combination to each new chest's top buttons
3. Test by placing an item in one chest—it should instantly appear in all linked chests with matching dyes
4. Use different dye combinations to create separate networks (e.g., one channel for ores, another for building blocks)
Tip: Write down your channel recipes or use a consistent pattern so you remember which dyes link to which storage purpose.
