Organize Multiple Storage Networks by Color

Planning Your Channel System

With 4,096 possible dye combinations, you can create many specialized storage networks. Plan before building to avoid confusion.

1. Decide your storage categories (ores, wood, food, redstone, etc.)

2. Assign a unique dye combination to each category—for example, red dye alone for ores, blue dye alone for wood

3. Write down or screenshot your system so you remember which colors mean what

4. Build chests at key locations (mining hub, farm, base, etc.) and apply the matching dyes

Expanding Your Network

As you grow:

  • Use single-dye channels for your most-used resources (easier to remember and apply)
  • Reserve multi-dye combinations for specialized or temporary storage
  • Label chests with signs showing their channel purpose
  • Test new channels with a single chest before committing to multiple locations

Tip: Keep one "junk" channel for items you're unsure about. This prevents accidentally mixing incompatible materials across your main networks.
