Troubleshoot Chests Not Linking

Checking Your Dye Setup

If chests aren't sharing items, verify the basics:

1. Open both chests' dye interfaces by right-clicking their tops

2. Compare the dye slots exactly—the order and color of dyes must match perfectly

3. Ensure dyes are actually placed in the buttons, not just in your inventory

4. Remove and re-apply dyes if you're unsure they registered correctly

5. Test with a simple item (like dirt) to confirm the link works

Common Issues

Chests are private: If a chest is locked with a diamond, only its owner can access it. Unlock it first if you need to share it across a network.

Wrong dye combination: Even one mismatched dye breaks the link. Double-check slot-by-slot.

Mod not loaded: Verify the mod is active in your world—linked chests won't function without it.

Distance doesn't matter: Linked chests work across any distance, even in different dimensions, so proximity isn't the issue.

If problems persist, try creating a fresh test chest with a simple single-dye channel in a safe location to isolate the problem.
