Extra Planets Mod — Guide
Planets and Moons
Extra Planets adds a vast array of celestial bodies. Each planet requires a specific Rocket Tier to reach and features unique gravity, temperature, and atmospheric conditions.
Celestial Bodies Table
| Planet/Moon | Rocket Tier | Gravity | Temperature | Notable Resources |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mercury | Tier 4 | 38% | Extremely Hot | Mercury Ore, Carbon |
| Ceres | Tier 4 | 9% | Cold | Uranium Ore |
| Jupiter | Tier 5 | 254% | Cold (Gas Giant) | Palladium, Red Gem, Nickel |
| Saturn | Tier 6 | 106% | Cold (Gas Giant) | Magnesium, Slime Ore |
| Uranus | Tier 7 | 90% | Extremely Cold | Crystal, White Gem |
| Neptune | Tier 8 | 114% | Extremely Cold | Zinc, Blue Gem |
| Pluto | Tier 9 | 6% | Extremely Cold | Tungsten Ore |
| Eris | Tier 10 | 8% | Extremely Cold | Dark Iron Ore |
| Kepler 22b | Tier 10 | 100% | Habitable | Kepler 22b Iron/Copper/Tin |
Moons
- Mars Moons: Phobos, Deimos
- Jupiter Moons: Io, Europa, Ganymede, Callisto
- Saturn Moons: Rhea, Titan, Iapetus
- Uranus Moons: Oberon, Titania
- Neptune Moons: Triton, Proteus
Rockets and Vehicles
To reach the outer reaches of the solar system, players must progress through seven new tiers of rockets. Each rocket is crafted using the NASA Workbench and requires a specific schematic found in the previous planet's dungeon.
Rocket Tiers
- Tier 4 Rocket: Required for Mercury and Ceres. Schematic found on the Moon.
- Tier 5 Rocket: Required for Jupiter. Schematic found on Mercury.
- Tier 6 Rocket: Required for Saturn. Schematic found on Jupiter.
- Tier 7 Rocket: Required for Uranus. Schematic found on Saturn.
- Tier 8 Rocket: Required for Neptune. Schematic found on Uranus.
- Tier 9 Rocket: Required for Pluto. Schematic found on Neptune.
- Tier 10 Rocket: Required for Eris and Kepler 22b. Schematic found on Pluto.
- Tier 10 Electric Rocket: A specialized endgame vehicle that runs on electricity rather than fuel.
Custom Vehicles
- Mars Rover: An upgraded version of the Moon Buggy with more storage and better speed.
- Venus Rover: Designed to withstand the corrosive atmosphere of Venus.
Mechanics: Radiation and Pressure
Extra Planets introduces two critical survival mechanics that make space exploration more challenging: Radiation and Pressure.
Radiation
Radiation is measured as a percentage on the player's HUD. High radiation levels cause debuffs and eventually death. - Mitigation: Players must wear Space Suits (Tiers 1-4). Each tier provides higher radiation resistance. - Lead Lining: Armor can be reinforced with Lead to provide additional protection. - Decontamination: Using a Radiation Station or consuming specific items can lower radiation levels.
Pressure
Gas giants and high-gravity planets exert immense pressure. Without a proper Pressure Layer in your Space Suit, you will take rapid damage. - Tiered Protection: Higher-tier Space Suits are required for the high-pressure environments of Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune.
Space Suits and Equipment
Standard Galacticraft armor is insufficient for the outer planets. Extra Planets adds tiered Space Suits that combine Armor, Radiation protection, and Pressure resistance.
Space Suit Tiers
| Tier | Primary Material | Protection Level |
|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | Lead / Aluminum | Basic Radiation & Pressure |
| Tier 2 | Titanium | Moderate Radiation & Pressure |
| Tier 3 | Palladium | High Radiation & Pressure |
| Tier 4 | Zinc | Maximum Radiation & Pressure |
Thermal Padding
While Galacticraft provides Tiers 1-2, Extra Planets adds: - Tier 3 Thermal Padding: Crafted using Compressed Desh. - Tier 4 Thermal Padding: Crafted using Compressed Carbon. - Tier 5 Thermal Padding: The ultimate thermal protection for the coldest/hottest environments.
