Drop Highlighter Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on the drop highlighter?
The mod is active by default once installed. If highlights aren't showing, press O to toggle the effect on—you should see glowing outlines around any dropped items on the ground.
Can I make it only highlight certain items?
Yes, open the item filter settings to choose which items you want highlighted and which ones to ignore. This lets you hide junk like rotten flesh while keeping focus on valuable drops.
What's the keybind to toggle highlights?
Press O on your keyboard to turn the highlighting effect on or off instantly during gameplay.
Does this mod work on servers?
Drop Highlighter is a client-side mod, so it only needs to be installed on your game client and will work on any server without requiring the server to have it installed.
Why can't I see highlights on items in water?
Make sure the mod is toggled on by pressing O, and check that the item type isn't filtered out in your settings. Items washed away by water currents should still show outlines if they're not blocked by your filter.
Does highlighting work on items hidden behind blocks?
Yes, the outlines show through obstacles so you can locate valuable drops even when they fall behind walls, trees, or other terrain.
Can I customize the color of the highlights?
The mod uses a default glowing outline effect to make items stand out. Check your mod settings to see if color customization options are available in your version.
Does this mod affect performance or FPS?
Drop Highlighter is designed to have minimal impact on performance since it only adds visual outlines to dropped items already in your world.
Will this work with other item-related mods?
Drop Highlighter works alongside most mods since it only adds visual effects to vanilla dropped item entities and doesn't change how items function.
How do I know if an item is filtered out?
If a dropped item on the ground has no glow around it, it's either filtered out in your settings or the highlighting is toggled off—press O to check the toggle status, then review your filter list.
