Delight Map Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I install this resource pack?
Download the pack file, then open your Minecraft resource packs folder (usually found in .minecraft/resourcepacks). Drag the pack file into that folder, restart Minecraft, and enable it in Settings > Resource Packs by moving it to the active list.
Will this work with shaders?
Delight Map is designed to work without shaders in vanilla Minecraft. If you use shaders alongside it, the lighting changes may conflict or be overridden by your shader's own lighting system, so results will vary.
Can I use this with Sodium?
Yes, Delight Map works with Sodium and other performance mods. The resource pack adjusts Minecraft's built-in lighting system, which is separate from rendering optimizations.
Why is my base still too bright even with this pack?
The pack lowers overall brightness but doesn't remove light sources—you still need to place torches and lanterns strategically. If your base feels overlit, add more shadows by using blocks to block sky light or reduce the number of light sources in open areas.
How do I change the lighting colors or brightness?
Open the pack's settings file (usually a .txt or .json file in the pack folder) in any text editor and adjust the values for light colors and intensity. Save the file and reload your world to see changes.
Does torch light look different with this pack?
Yes, torches and lanterns emit warmer, more orange-toned light that spreads over a shorter distance, making them feel cozier and more realistic than vanilla bright white light.
What happens to The Nether's lighting?
The Nether becomes darker overall, and block light shifts from bright yellow to rich red tones, giving the dimension a more cohesive, fiery appearance.
Why does The End look different?
The End receives cooler light tones and softer sky flashes to match its desolate mood. The adjustments prevent the dimension from looking washed out while reducing the blinding effect of bright reflections.
Will this pack work on multiplayer servers?
Yes, resource packs are client-side only, so you can use Delight Map on any server without needing server permission or installation.
Does this pack affect my game performance?
No, Delight Map only changes how lighting is rendered and has no impact on FPS or performance since it works within Minecraft's standard rendering system.
