Compact Machines: Rooms, Walls, and Resizing

How Compact Machines Work

Compact Machines lets you build inside a tiny room that is bigger on the inside than it looks from outside. A compact machine room is enclosed by Compact Machine Wall and Solid Compact Machine Wall — the solid variant is the fully opaque version, while the regular wall keeps the see-through look. These blocks form the shell that defines the room's interior space.

To get in and out, you use the Personal Shrinking Device. Shrinking yourself lets you enter the compact space; the same device returns you to normal size when you leave. The Atom Shrinking Module and Atom Enlarging Module handle resizing the contents of a room, letting you shrink or enlarge what is inside rather than the player.

Because the interior is a separate enclosed space, you can pack a full setup — storage, machines, or a workshop — into a single block-sized footprint in the world. The configuration options control how these spaces behave, and the related sections cover the mod's supporting content.
