Finding the New End Biomes
Once you enter the End through the vanilla portal, the terrain around you is dramatically reshaped by BetterEnd. Fly or bridge outward from the central island — the mod adds many new biomes such as Amber Grass plains, Amaranita forests, Azure Jadestone formations, and
Aurora Crystal caves. Each biome has its own palette of blocks and mobs, so scout a few before settling. Bring blocks, food, and a spare pickaxe, because the outer islands are far apart.
Setting Up a Base
Pick a biome whose resources you need most. Amber Grass areas give easy access to Amber Moss and Amber Root Seeds for farming. Amaranita forests provide wood-like stems and caps for building and lanterns. Aurora Crystal caves are where you will later hunt crystal shards. Place a bed or respawn anchor, a chest, and a small farm. End Fish can be caught in the void-adjacent water pockets that some biomes generate, so a fishing rod is worth carrying.
First Priorities
- Collect Amber Ore and Aurora Crystal Shards early; both feed into later crafting.
- Kill End Slimes for End Slime resources used in several recipes.
- Note the location of any Aeternium-related structures or ore you spot — you will return for them.
- Tame or avoid Silk Moths and Dragonflies; they are mostly ambient but drop useful materials.
With a base and a resource loop running, you are ready to push toward Aeternium gear.
