Rolling Materials Flat
The rolling mechanic transforms raw materials into flat, thin sheets. This is useful for creating decorative blocks or preparing materials for further crafting. Start by placing your material on a solid block.
Setting Up the Rolling Station
Position an anvil above your material and use a
magnet to repeatedly lift and drop it. The consistent impacts gradually flatten the material into sheet form. Unlike crushing, rolling requires a gentler, more controlled rhythm—use a slower redstone clock to give materials time to compress between impacts.
Collecting Rolled Materials
Place collection hoppers around your rolling station to catch the finished sheets as they form. You can stack multiple rolling stations side-by-side to process different materials simultaneously.
Note that not all blocks can be rolled—experiment with different raw materials to discover which ones respond to this process and what final forms they take.
