Understanding the Press Mechanic

The pressing system uses falling anvil weight to squeeze liquids from blocks or compact loose materials. Set up your anvil above a cauldron or target block containing the material you want to process.

Building the Press

Place your source block on a solid surface, then position an anvil above it. Use a magnet to lift and drop the anvil repeatedly. Each impact applies pressure—liquids will be extracted into cauldrons below, and loose items will compress into denser forms.

Optimizing Your Setup

For continuous operation, connect your magnet to a redstone clock that powers and unpowers it in a steady rhythm. The faster your cycle, the quicker materials process. Use hoppers to feed new materials into the press and extract finished products automatically.

Experiment with different block types—some materials respond better to sustained pressure, while others need rapid impacts to break down efficiently.
